I’m delighted to announce that Nic Kitson is now a co-owner of Proudhouse Property Management and is promoted to our highest level of management. This is an exciting opportunity for Nic and reflects a new and dynamic direction for Proudhouse. Nic was originally one of our tenants and in early 2015 was employed on a free-lance basis helping me with bookkeeping and inventories. I was always impressed with her dedication and commitment to whatever task she was assigned. But the other thing that struck me was her willingness to suggest improvements and changes to make the business more efficient.
As a business owner and leader, I firmly believe that staff should be given authority to make changes and decisions within their work environment in order to keep staff motivated and ensure that the person closest to the work has some, or even all, authority to progress whatever matter is at hand. Nic progressed through from free-lance, to part-time, to full-time and, as her experience has grown, she has proved her self to be a valuable person to Proudhouse and brimming with ideas for new business direction and revenue streams.
I therefore had to give way to Nic and let her run the business in the direction she thought best. In turn, that has freed me to concentrate on developing the IT, website, marketing and administrative systems required to implement new initiatives.
And from a personal point of view, after incorporating the business 2010, it is a welcome relief for me to have a business partner at the top alongside me. Well done Nic – I’m genuinely excited about this new development and I look forward to running the business together with you.
