Do you know what you’re paying?
The Lettings and Management industry has, unfortunately, had more than its fair share of rogue traders. So it’s important to us that clients have confidence and trust in our services and fees. For that reason, we operate a completely transparent fees system.
Our invoices to clients are clear, concise and itemised. We always ensure that tradesman’s invoices are passed onto clients as disbursements – this means that we make no profit on those maintenance fees and special HMRC rules apply for the application (or not) of VAT. So, it’s important to get it right – for this reason, our invoices are very clear and detail which tradesman has done the work – and beforehand, all parties (landlord, tenant and tradesperson) receive a detailed work order of what work needs to be done. And the tradesman’s original invoice is always available on request.
Check for hidden fees
It’s important that clients know what’s going on and what they’re paying for. There are well-known agents in Yeovil, and elsewhere around the country, who disguise stealth fees within their reinvoices for tradesman’s work – these agents also invoice the tradesman a fee for providing the work to them! Which drives up the tradesman’s invoice to the client. It’s not clear, it’s not transparent and at Proudhouse we don’t think it’s fair game.
Transfer to Proudhouse
We’ve helped over 50 landlords transfer to our services in the last 5 years – if you’re not happy with your current agent then contact us. We’re patient and we’ll work with you if you’re tied into an awkward service agreement, although often we can get landlords out of those agreements through our understanding of industry practices and contracts. We’re here to help. And we genuinely hold the principles of honesty, fairness and quality service in high esteem.
We look forward to hearing from you – you can contact us anytime for free, no obligation, advice.
